Kinja'd!!!

So I'm going to take a punt on this Land Rover. It's an ex-military Defender 110 300tdi, with unknown mileage but it's CLEAN. CLEANER THAN CLEAN. And straight. And runs good.

So say hello to Landy number 2, and a worthy addition to place number 4 in my stable.

With thanks to RamblinRover!

Including VAT they want £9k, but I will be paying by cash so there is room to manoeuvre. I wouldn't be paying so much normally, but this thing is mint underneath, and I think it has been through an MOD service life extension program called Tithonus which was design to extend the service life of MOD Landrovers from 20 to 30 years. Still need to see it in the flesh, but signs are good so far!

I can't say I blame you for taking the MOAR POWER over the dependable but dull 2.5. Towing might have been murder, even with a five-speed.

I'd say as long as you get the footwells sealed up, it should carry on all right - and one does have to love a panel truck top.

I figured that if there's not much difference between the NA diesel and my current Series petrol, then what is the point of sticking £8-9k into a workhorse that performs no better (albeit younger and in better nick) than what I already have. Any wear and tear on the Series could easily be offset with a third of the cost of the NA diesel, and it look better doing it.

MOAR POWER INDEED.

Do they have any others available for legal US import (older than 1989)? I know of someone looking for a 110.

I'm honestly not sure what the requirements are for a legal U.S. import, but the website is here :) http://goo.gl/fr9fDU

1989 and older is the cut-off for importing cars that were previously not for sale in the US. Thanks for the link!
